We Believe Weekend: God

Lesson Summary

Today we are asking three questions and seeing how God answers them in His Word. While we know that no single statement can sum up our infinite God, we hope these truths will give us a little bit better view of who God really is. Who is God? God is the all-powerful, all-knowing, all-seeing Creator of everything. What is God like? God is holy, just, loving and faithful. How many persons are in God? There are 3 persons in 1 God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Questions to Ask Your Child

  1. How would you describe God? Who is He to you? What are your favorite qualities about Him?

  2. Read Romans 1:20 and Exodus 34:6-7. What do these verses tell us about who God is?

  3. Read 1 Peter 1:2 and Titus 3:4-6. How do you see the Trinity working together in Scripture?

  4. Why does it matter what you believe about God? How does it affect the way you see yourself, others and the world?

Activity

Write down together as a family all the words that describe God the Father. Then write down all the words that describe the Holy Spirit. Next, write down all the words that describe Jesus. Compare the lists you made, which words were are the same? Which words are different?
