This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. — Joshua 1:9

Scripture Reference

Exodus 1:8-3:14 (The Beginner’s Bible p. 92-103)

Teaching Truth

  • God is always with us.

Questions to Ask Your Child

  • Who was with Moses when he was in the basket?

  • How do you think Miriam felt as she watched her brother float away from her?

  • How do you think Moses felt when he heard the burning bush talk?

  • What did God ask Moses to do and who did God tell Moses would be with him?

Family Activity

Go on a journey through the house or the neighborhood. Stop along the way to talk about how God is always with us no matter where we go. Just like God was with Moses when he was in the basket floating down the river or when Moses was in the desert and saw the burning bush.

Wrap-Up

With each lesson, help your child apply what they have learned by asking, “What do you think God wants us to learn from this story?” If you get stuck with finding the answer, refer to the weekly Teaching Truths.
