About 1 Timothy

In a time when cultural confusion and false teachings challenge the foundation of faith, the church is called to stand firm in truth and thrive in godliness. As followers of Christ, we face the ongoing struggle of discerning truth amidst the noise of modern ideologies and living lives marked by holiness in a world far from it.

In this series, Guarding Truth, Growing Godliness, we will journey through the Apostle Paul’s first letter to Timothy. Written to a young leader in a church grappling with false teachers and ungodly practices, this letter provides timeless guidance on how the church can thrive. Together, we will uncover what it means to ground ourselves in sound doctrine and live out our faith in love, purity, and holiness.

We will wrestle with questions such as:

  1. How do we identify and guard against false teaching?

  2. What does it mean to live a godly life that reflects Christ?

  3. How can we create a church culture rooted in truth and love?

  4. What role do leadership and sound teaching play in a thriving church?

  5. How can we, as individuals and a community, hold firm to biblical convictions in an ever-shifting world?

“I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these things to you so that… you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth.” — 1 Timothy 3:14-15

Throughout this series, we will confront the reality that, as followers of Christ, we are called to live counter-culturally—rooted in the eternal hope of the Kingdom of God. We will learn how to endure hardship with faith, understanding that our suffering is never in vain, but is being used to shape us into the likeness of Christ.

Join us as we realign our hearts and minds to the truth of God’s Word and discover the strength and hope that come from knowing we are not home yet, but we are never alone in our journey.
