Scripture Reference
Revelation 1, 4, 5, 19, 20, 21 (Jesus Storybook Bible p. 342-349)
Teaching Truth
Jesus will come again and make all things new.
God had a plan to rescue the world from sin.
God always keeps his promises.
Questions to Ask Your Child
Who appeared to John while he was on the island?
What will the earth be like when Jesus returns?
Does Jesus always do what he says he is going to do?
Will the earth be perfect when Jesus returns?
Family Activity
Jesus wanted John to listen as He talked about God’s plan and John to write down what he heard. Have your child practice putting his finger to his mouth to be quiet and cupping his hand around his ear to listen. Suppose your child can grab some paper and crayons and have him draw the main part(s) of the story. Begin telling the story of what Jesus told John. Throughout the story, stop and have your child put his finger to his mouth to be quiet, cup his hand around his ear to listen, and again, if able, draw a part of the story just like John wrote down all the Jesus told him.
Wrap-Up
With each lesson, help your child apply what they have learned by asking, “What do you think God wants us to learn from this story?” If you get stuck with finding the answer, refer to the weekly Teaching Truths.
