Questions to Ask Your Child

READ DANIEL 6:3-9

  1. Look at verses 4-5. What was Daniel’s reputation? What was the only way the people who didn’t like him knew they could get him in trouble? (They knew he would only break the law if it went against what God’s Word said.)

READ DANIEL 6:10-18

  1. Look at verses 10-11. How did God’s unchanging word guide Daniel’s actions? How do you know? (He continued to pray to God just like he always did, no matter what might happen.)

  2. Just because the king made a new rule, did that mean God’s Word changed too? (No, God’s Word was consistent.)

READ DANIEL 6:19-28

  1. Did Daniel have the power to save himself? (No! He was up against hungry lions.) Who or what did he put his trust in? (He trusted God was with him, no matter what happened.)

Activity

As a family, spend time this week picking out a few verses from God’s Word that you want to guide your actions day by day. Feel free to make these verses the core of any family values that you want your family to pursue. For fun you can make an acronym using your last name, with each letter being one of your family values. Then choose scripture for each value.
