Teaching Truth

  • We can trust God no matter what happens.

  • It’s not always easy to follow Jesus.

Questions to Ask Your Child

  • Why were Paul and Silas in prison?

  • Do you think Paul and Silas trusted Jesus even when they were in prison?

  • How did Jesus open the doors of the prison?

  • How do you think Paul and Silas felt when they were able to leave prison? What did they go and do?

Family Activity

Paul and Silas continued to praise God and sing even during their trials. Help your child make a homemade instrument to use during his singing. Put a handful of dry beans in a small plastic container. Tape around the top so the lid doesn’t come off while he uses it. Sing praise songs with your child and let him shake his new instrument.

Wrap-Up

With each lesson, help your child apply what they have learned by asking, “What do you think God wants us to learn from this story?” If you get stuck with finding the answer, refer to the weekly Teaching Truths.
