Teaching Truth
God’s way is the best way.
God wants us to listen to Him, and to obey Him.
Questions to Ask Your Child
What did God want Jonah to do?
Why do you think Jonah did not want to go to Nineveh?
What happened when Jonah got on the boat?
How do you think Jonah felt when he was in the belly of the fish and what did he pray to God?
Family Activity
Grab two white paper plates, blue paint, plastic wrap, a paper fish, and a paper man. Let your child use blue finger paint to paint the ocean on one of the paper plates. After it has dried, tape the fish and man (Jonah) to the ocean. Cut out the center of the other plate and tape plastic wrap on the inside of the plate to cover the hole. Staple the two plates together so you can see the fish and man through the hole.
Wrap-Up
With each lesson, help your child apply what they have learned by asking, “What do you think God wants us to learn from this story?” If you get stuck with finding the answer, refer to the weekly Teaching Truths.
