Definition

Faith: Trusting in God, His Word, and His Promises

Teaching Truth

I can trust God because He always keeps His promises

Questions to Ask Your Child

  1. Read Isaiah 53:5-10. What things happened to the Messiah in these verses? How did Jesus keep all of these promises when He died on the cross?

  2. Read Isaiah 11:1-9. How does Isaiah describe the Messiah? Do these verses in Isaiah help you have faith in our amazing God? Why?

  3. God hasn’t fulfilled all the promises He made in Isaiah 11 yet, but He will someday. What do you think it will be like when Jesus comes back again to rule as king?

  4. Why is it important we remember what the Old Testament says about Jesus when we celebrate Christmas?

Activity

At the beginning of the day make a promise to your family. A couple of ideas are to get their favorite candy or snack for when they get home or playing their favorite game with them after school. Be creative and have fun with it! KEEP your promise and follow through with what you said you would do! Then as you are enjoying the treat or activity remind your family that you are simply giving an example of how God ALWAYS keeps His promises.
