Hebrews: The Better Upgrade

Sermon Notes

As we wrap up Hebrews, the pastor shows us there are four things that are better as a result of the upgrade that has come in Christ:

  • A Better System:

    • Christ's death and resurrection introduced us to a new operating system.

    • There's a contrast between the old way of thinking based on religious rituals and the new system of trusting in Jesus.

    • God's love and salvation are through Jesus rather than personal behavior.

  • A Better Sacrifice:

    • It'a importance to praise God and live a sacrificial lifestyle through good deeds and sharing with others.

    • We can inspire others through sacrificial service and being attractive to those seeking meaning.

  • A Better Submission:

    • It's important that we submit to godly leaders and be part of a local church.

    • The role of leaders as servants who care for the congregation.

    • There's a need for accountability and the benefits of being connected to a church community.

  • A Better Shepherd:

    • God is the source of peace and fulfillment.

    • Jesus as the great Shepherd who cares for his people.

    • God's pleased in working in individuals' lives and enjoying the process of us following Jesus.
