Letter from the Elders
CityBridge Family,
As we reflect on our past year, we are encouraged by how our members have prioritized investing in God’s Word and people. We continue to be amazed at what God is doing in and through the lives of those who call CityBridge home. Our first year was marked by everything feeling new, while our second year has been marked by getting aligned to move in the same direction. As an Elder team, our primary focus is shepherding the body. We are continually discussing how we can help move people to maturity as we ourselves move towards maturity in Christ.
We have worked to align our church body by connecting our Sunday Sermons with a daily devotional reading plan available on the CityBridge app. As we have read Hebrews together, we hope your love, appreciation, clarity, and the priority of Jesus has grown in your life. We pray your hope in Christ, and His approachability, have become more real and tangible amid hardship and trials.
As a member, you have been responsible for caring for others in our church and for the innovation of caring for those outside our church. Ministries have been started and led by you, our members. We focus on the church inside our walls through our shepherding structure, where faithful members shepherd our community groups. Members lead weekly ministries to help people move out of darkness and isolation, grow in biblical truth, and use their gifts to love and serve others. We focus on being the church outside the walls of 6400 K Ave through Neighboring, the CityBridge Urgent Care Clinic, and many other initiatives. We consistently meet people during the week and in Sunday services who were invited by their neighbors, co-workers, and our friends at the clinic.
Let’s keep giving our lives in 2023 to eternal things and not that which perishes (Hebrews 11:23, 27). We love doing this with you all!
In Christ,
CityBridge Elders
