2 Corinthians tells us that God repurposes our hurts and troubles. He comforts us and brings healing so that we can in turn comfort and serve others with the same love we have been given (2 Corinthians 1:3-5). It is my joy to serve at CityBridge Plano as the Female Pastoral Care Coordinator because that is my story. God met me in my deepest need and now I can share with others the same comfort and joy I have found in Christ!
I am a Collin County girl with roots here in North Texas. Raised on sweet tea and Jesus, I came to a faith in Christ early in my teens. In the following years I wrestled with finding my identity in my achievements and sought people to define my worth. It took a divorce in 2016 to show me that neither circumstances nor achievements define my worth. It was life-altering to discover that my identity could be and is secure when it is defined by my relationship with Christ.
As a former high school art teacher (Go Allen Eagles!), I love swapping teacher stories and celebrating all things student related. I am a painter by trade and I enjoy showing my oil and acrylic paintings in local art galleries. It is my dream to one day have my own solo art exhibition. When I am not painting, I enjoy kayaking, roller skating, discussing philosophy or psychology, and taking any opportunity I can find to head to the mountains.
