Questions to Ask Your Child

Read Exodus 34:6-7

  •  What other words would you use to describe God?

  • What does it mean that God is holy? (Perfect, unique, different from us, deserves all our praise)

  • What does it mean that God is just? (He says what’s right and wrong. He will punish every sin the right way.)

  • How has God shown His great love for you?

  • What does it mean that God is faithful? (He always keeps His promises.)

Read 1 Peter 1:2

  • Why is the Trinity not like an apple? (The apple has different parts that make it up. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are NOT different parts of God. They are all completely God.)

  • Why is the Trinity not like water? (Water is sometimes liquid and sometimes ice. God’s not sometimes the Father and sometimes the Holy Spirit – He is all 3 at the same time)

  • What do we mean when we say that the three persons in the Trinity are equal? (One is not more important or more powerful than any other)

  • Why is it important for us to remember that the Father, Son, and Spirit are united? (There are three persons but only ONE God. We do not worship many gods. Just ONE.)

Activity

Write down together as a family all the words that describe God the Father. Then down all the words that describe the Holy Spirit. Next, write down all the words that describe Jesus. Compare the lists you made, which words were are the same? Which words are different?
