Teaching Truth
Jesus is God’s greatest gift.
Jesus is God’s plan to rescue the world from sin.
Questions to Ask Your Child
Who sent Jesus to us?
Why is Jesus such a special gift?
Who can receive the gift of Jesus?
Where was Jesus born?
Family Activity
Create a birthday in a bag to help celebrate Jesus’ birthday. When at the store let your child pick out a cake mix, icing, candles, and some party decorations. But instead of using it for your own celebration, place it in a gift bag and deliver it to a friend with a note saying to use the goodies to help celebrate Jesus’ birthday. It is fun to do it at night. Leave the bag on the doorstep, ring the bell and run & hide so your friend doesn’t know who it came from.
Wrap-Up
With each lesson, help your child apply what they have learned by asking, “What do you think God wants us to learn from this story?” If you get stuck with finding the answer, refer to the weekly Teaching Truths.
