Teaching Truth
We show others God’s love by helping them.
God wants us to show everyone His love.
Questions to Ask Your Child
How do you think it made the hurt man feel when two of the people passed him and did not help?
What did the Samaritan do to take care of the man?
What does it mean to be a neighbor?
How can we help our neighbors?
Family Activity
Grab a large stuffed animal or doll and a roll of toilet paper. Let your child bandage the stuffed animal by wrapping it in toilet paper. Talk with your child about how he can care for others’ hurts by being gentle and kind, just as he is being gentle and kind with his stuffed animal so the toilet paper won’t break.
Wrap-Up
With each lesson, help your child apply what they have learned by asking, “What do you think God wants us to learn from this story?” If you get stuck with finding the answer, refer to the weekly Teaching Truths.
