Elementary – Family Weekend

Memory Verse:
My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. — Proverbs 2:1-5

Activity

Supplies Needed: 2 containers of Playdoh, several small pieces of paper or index cards, a bowl, pen/marker, timing device

Step 1: As a family, make a list of all the things you would like to have in heaven. Write each item down on a separate piece of paper or index card. Place cards in a bowl.

Step 2: Divide the family into 2 groups, determine which group goes first, then decide who will be the first “sculptor”.

Step 3: Give the sculptor 30 seconds. During his/her time, they draw one piece of paper out of the bowl at a time. They sculpt the item using Playdoh. Their team tries to guess what the item is based on the sculpture. No words or gestures can be used. Once the word is identified by their team, they move on to another item from the bowl. The goal is to get as many as they can before time runs out, then move to the other team. Whichever team guesses the most words, wins.
