Worship Arts Director

I’m a native Southern Louisiana boy but was raised in a small town south of Houston called Sweeny, TX. I grew up in a minister’s home as my father has been in local church ministry for over 50 years. I’ve been very fortunate to have the experience of being in the church for so many years with the ups and downs and the joys and challenges of local ministry life and family life. With my Dad serving in music ministry, music was a huge part of my development and I am thankful for the heritage I’ve had both in music and in ministry.

I surrendered my life to Christ when I was a little boy but didn’t really understand the deep joys and peace of knowing The Lord on a daily basis until I was in my early 20s. This led to much addiction and wrestling’s with depression and despair for much of my high school years and early college years. But after a couple of years wandering from school to school, God was gracious to provide an opportunity for me to transfer to Dallas Baptist University where I studied music business and was able to find a healthy community and newfound joy in Christ.

Shortly thereafter I met Emily, my wife, and absolutely fell head over heels in love. We’ve been married 13 years and she is the joy of my life. I am so grateful to have her as my closest friend. In 2018 we had the joy of welcoming Royal David and Bethel Joy into our family as we adopted them after a couple of years of fostering. They are God’s gifts to us and we are so humbled that He has allowed us to be their mom and dad.

More than anything I love watching God move among his people in corporate worship. I love the mechanics of planning worship, the execution of leading worship, and the shepherding of moments when the Holy Spirit moves in unique ways. To partner with God in shepherding the people of God to posture themselves in worship are my passion and joy.

When I’m not working, I love songwriting, photography, boutique coffees, and of course, House Astros Baseball! Go ‘Stros!
