Dan McHugh

Executive pastor

I was born in Chicago before my family moved to the east coast and settled in New Jersey. By God’s grace, my parents trusted Christ when I was young. As a result, I grew up in a household and attending churches where the gospel was clearly preached. What started as head knowledge began to sink into my heart as I grew older and I realized that I was a sinner in need of a savior and that nothing I could do would ever be good enough to bridge the gap between me and a holy God. I surrendered my life to Christ and was baptized as a freshman in high school.

I went on to attend the University of Illinois where God placed faithful men around me who continually pointed me back to Jesus and helped me grow in my love for God and others. While there, I also met my wife, Amy. We married in 2007 and settled in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We began attending CityBridge shortly thereafter and now live in Plano with our four kids – Maggie, Grayson, Paxton and Landon.

I spent fifteen years working in the commercial real estate industry. When the opportunity arose to come on staff at CityBridge it seemed like a natural next step in the work God was already doing in my life. I love meeting men and women who are new to CityBridge, hearing about how God’s grace has transformed their lives and helping them connect with others here!
